Yedi veya sekiz yaşlarındaydım. 1970’lerin efsane dergisi Milliyet Çocuk’ta, “Uzay Çocukları” adlı harika sürekli hikayeyi çizen Mıstık, bizim eve gelmişti. Benim için önemli geceydi. İmzasını tanıdığım bu adam, masamda bulduğu bir kağıda, kendi kalın uçlu tuhaf kalemi ile bir Uzay Mantarı ve bir Pembe Panter çizmiş ve o kalemi masamda unutmuştu. Mıstık’ın unuttuğu o kalemi senelerce kullandım. Bilin ki bir masa ve bir kalem sizi pek çok denyoluktan korur.
I was seven or eight years old. Mıstık, the illustrator of the wonderful comic strip “Uzay Çocukları/Space Children” in Milliyet Çocuk, the legendary children’s magazine of the 1970s, came to our house. It was an important night for me. This man, whose signature I knew, drew a Space Mushroom and a Pink Panther on a piece of paper he found at my desk, using his strange pen with a thick tip -and then forgot that pen on my desk. I used that pen that Mıstık forgot for many years. Let it be known that a desk and a pen will protect you from uncouthness in many ways.
